You’ll have to pay a surcharge to the Texas Department of Safety (DPS) if you’re convicted of certain offenses or have too many points on your driving record within a three year period. This surcharge is in addition to the fines and court costs you pay the court that is handling the ticket. Avoid the following charges with quality legal representation today!
You’ll be charged $250 per year for 3 years by the DPS if you plead guilty or are convicted of not having insurance or having expired insurance.
You’ll be charged $100 a year for 3 years by the DPS if you are convicted of or plead guilty to driving without a license.
You’ll be charged $750 per year for 3 years by the DPS if you are convicted of or plead guilty to driving while license is invalid. If you are ever pulled over again within an invalid license you will be arrested and charged with a Class B Misdemeanor.
If you get over 6 points on your driving record, it’ll cost you $100 per point. Be aware that most moving violations, including speeding, add 2 points to your record.
